Activity No. 96 : Faisalabad and Qingdao establishes Friendly Cooperative Relations

The Faisalabad-Qingdao Online Dialogue on Friendly Cooperation was held today in Qingdao. From Chinese side, Mr. Zhao Haozhi, Mayor of Qingdao, Mr. Liu Jianjun, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee, Ambassador Nong Rong attended the Dialogue. From Pakistan, Mr. Farrukh Habib, Federal  Minister of State, Ambassador Moin ul Haque, Mr. Zahid Hussain, Commissioner Faisalabad and Mr. Muhammad Yousuf, Chief Operating Officer of Allama Iqbal Industrial Park attended the Dialogue.

Mr. Zhao Haozhi said that China and Pakistan are iron-brothers and All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partners. Establishing Friendly-City Relationship between Qingdao and Faisalabad will add a new chapter to bilateral cooperation and it will further promote and deepen bilateral cooperation in the fields of investment, Trade, agriculture, logistics and culture. He expressed his full support to further strengthen practical exchanges between SCODA and Allama Iqbal Industrial Park.

Ambassador Nong Rong said that promotion friendly exchanges is an important part of bilateral cooperation. Iron-clad friendship between China and Pakistan has always stood test of time. The recent 10th JCC meeting has promoted industrialization, development of SEZs and social-economic development in Pakistan. Exchanges between Qingdao and Faisalabad will boost the pace of bilateral industrial cooperation.

Ambassador Haque thanked Qingdao Municipal Government for their excellent support to promote exchanges between Faisalabad and Qingdao. He said that our unique friendship is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people of two brotherly countries. Today's event has greatly promoted and deepened friendly exchanges and cooperation between Faisalabad and Qingdao. He urged that Faisalabad and Qingdao may establish a strong mechanism to promote industrial and investment cooperation between Allama Iqbal Industrial Park and SCO Demonstration Area.  

In concluding remarks, Mr. Farruk Habib, Federal Minister of State thanked China's consistent support to Pakistan and appreciated President Xi Jinping's vision of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), flagship project of BRI is promoting high-quality development and industrialization in Pakistan. He expressed his full support to friendly exchanges between Faisalabad and Qingdao. He invited the Mayor of Qingdao to visit Faisalabad at his earliest convenience.

Later on, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on friendly exchanges between Faisalabad and Qingdao, and MoU on Cooperation between SCODA and Allama Iqbal Industrial City were signed.

It was one of the events to commemorate the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China.
