Activity No. 93 : Iron Brothers Cricket Tournament organised in Beijing

 

 

Embassy of Pakistan Beijing organised a friendship cricket event titled “Iron Brothers Cricket Tournament” in Beijing today. The event was organised to mark 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. It also coincided with 72nd National Day of China.

The participating teams in the day long event belonged to Embassy of Pakistan, Sri Lankan Embassy, China Radio International, Pakistani professionals in Beijing, Chinese cricket clubs and Pakistan Embassy College Beijing.

Pakistan Embassy team led by Ambassador Moin ul Haque won the tournament.

Speaking at the prize distribution ceremony, Ambassador Moin ul Haque thanked Chinese government particularly the General Administration of Sports for supporting the Embassy in organising the iron brothers cricket tournament. He remarked that the celebrations of the 70th anniversary taking place in China and Pakistan through out this year highlight the strong bonds of friendship between the two friendly countries spread over a period of seven decades.

Expressing satisfaction at the deep interest of Chinese youth in cricket, Ambassador Moin appreciated the role of Cricket Association of China for the game's popularity and extended Pakistan's complete support for its spread in China. He also gifted special Pakistan made cricket bats to the Chinese teams.

Many Chinese artists performed at the prize distribution ceremony which was also attended by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka as a special guest.
