As part of activities to celebrate 70 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, Pakistan- Taizhou Trade and Investment Forum was held in Taizhou city, Jiangsu Province of China on September 24 2021. The Forum was jointly organized by Consulate General of Pakistan in Shanghai and Taizhou Municipal People's Government.
Taizhou City has one of China's largest clusters of healthcare industry.
During the Forum, Consul General of Pakistan in Shanghai, briefed representatives of the local healthcare industry about Pakistan market, China Pakistan FTA, CPEC, and Pakistan Government investment policies and incentives, and encouraged them to increase their trade and investment linkages with Pakistan.
Earlier, the Consul General met with Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Taizhou city. The two sides discussed ways and means to strengthen cultural and economic relations between Pakistan and Taizhou city. The Consul General greeted the Mayor on the centenary of the establishment of the Communist Party of China.
Pakistan and China enjoy close and friendly relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in May 1951. Pakistan was one of the first countries that recognized the People’s Republic of China. Over the years, the relationship has blossomed into an “all weather strategic cooperative partnership”. Pakistan considers China as one of its closest friend and partner and China considers Pakistan as its “Iron Brother”.
