Activity No.__: PTI and IDCPC Holds Party-to-Party Talks to Commemorate 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Ties

On 26th May 2021, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) and International Department of Communist Party of China (IDCPC) held a virtual conference to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China and 10th  anniversary of the exchanges between the two parties.

The event was attended by Mr. Song Tao, Minister of the IDCPC and Mr. Shah Mahmood Qureshi, PTI’s Vice Chairman and Foreign Minister of Pakistan. It was also attended by PTI Secretary General Mr. Arshad Dad, Vice-Minister IDCPC Chen Zhou and Mr. Nong Rong, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan.

Foreign Minister Qureshi warmly congratulated the CPC on 100th anniversary of its founding and commended its role for development and prosperity of the Chinese people.  He said that Pakistan highly values its friendly cooperation with China and appreciates its role for fighting COVID-19 in Pakistan. He said that PTI was willing to take the 70th  anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between Pakistan and China and the 10th anniversary of the exchanges between the two parties as an opportunity to further strengthen bilateral exchanges, promote the high quality development of CPEC and strengthen all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.

In his remarks, Minister Song Tao said that Pakistan and China are all-weather strategic cooperative partners and China always accorded a special priority to Pakistan in its foreign relations. He highlighted that 2021 as the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries provided an important opportunity to further enhance mutual coordination in all aspects of bilateral relationship especially in party-to-party linkages.

The meeting also held an online signing ceremony of the action plan for exchange and cooperation between the CPC and PTI for 2021-23.
