Activity No. 114 : Karachi and Wuhan establishes Sister-City Relationship

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, Karachi and Wuhan establishes Sister-City Relationship on 02 November 2021. During the grand inauguration ceremony of establishment of China-Pakistan Friendship Square in Wuhan, Ambassador Moin ul Haque and Vice Mayor of Wuhan Jiang Wei signed the Letter of Intent on establishment of Sister-City Relationship between Karachi and Wuhan.

Both sides vowed to carry out various forms of exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, science and education, agriculture, tourism, and personnel exchanges to enhance prosperity and development of Karachi and Wuhan.

Pakistan was one of the first countries that recognized the People’s Republic of China. Over the years, the relationship has blossomed into an “all weather strategic cooperative partnership”.
