A part of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, an MoU between Nishtar Medical University and Wuhan Landing Intelligent Medical Co. Ltd was signed in Wuhan on 02 November 2021. Prof. Dr. Altaf Rana, Vice Chancellor via online video link and Dr. Sun Xiaorong, CEO of Wuhan Landing Intelligent Medical Co. Ltd. signed the MOU.
The MOU aims at promotion and deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence-assisted cervical cancer screening in Pakistan. It will open new avenues of bilateral cooperation under China-Pakistan Health Corridor particularly in the field of AI-assisted medical diagnosis and treatment.
Ambassador Moin ul Haque and Mr. Zhao Haishan, Vice Governor of Hubei Province witnessed the signing of the MOU.
Pakistan and China enjoy close and friendly relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in May 1951. Pakistan was one of the first countries that recognized the People’s Republic of China. Over the years, the relationship has blossomed into an “all weather strategic cooperative partnership”. Pakistan considers China as one of its closest friend and partner and China considers Pakistan as its “Iron Brother”.
