Activity No.41: Embassy of Pakistan Decorated to Celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Establishment of Pakistan-China Ties

On the evening of 21 May 2021, the Embassy of Pakistan was specially decorated to celebrate the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

The Embassy’s building exhibited spectacular display of red and green lights, the national colours of the two countries which also carry profound cultural symbolism for the respective nations. The colourful matrix of red and green created a beautiful impact conveying a strong message of eternal brotherhood between the two nations and demonstrated their resolve to take their friendship to a new zenith of glory and grandeur.

The modern history of Pakistan-China ties began on 21 May 1951 when the two countries established formal diplomatic ties. To mark the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties, the governments and peoples of the two sides have organised an array of events which are being organised in the two countries with tremendous enthusiasm.

Pakistan was one of the first countries that recognized the People’s Republic of China. Over the years, the relationship has blossomed into an “all weather strategic cooperative partnership”.
